2nd March 2016 – Helena Valley, Perth hills, Western Australia
The Perth hills suburb of Boya seems to have its fair share of bushfires, and unfortunately, sometimes they’re deliberately lit. They can present a serious threat to people and their homes, especially after a long, hot and dry Perth summer. We usually ask Star Family to help suppress the fires when they break out in the Perth hills. On this occasion I was zooming in on a fire-fighting helicopter that was travelling north-west along the Helena Valley towards the fire. The following two consecutive images were taken at 2 frames per second, showing a small gold-coloured podship (see arrow) speeding past the helicopter:
